Welcome
Now come one, come all to this tragic affair----

Welcome to Nightmares & Daydreams. A modern day rp that takes place in a psychiatric hospital.

You were thrown in here for one reason or another. Dumped in this hellhole they call Daniel Grey Psychiatric Hospital, or actually more commonly known as the local loony bin of California. When you think "psychiatric hospital" or "mental institution" I'm sure the first thing you think are those scary asylums they have in the movies with bright white lights everywhere and people in straight jackets not talking to each other.

I guess in a way Daniel Grey is like that in the sense that a lot of the walls and floors here are a bright white. But there aren't any people in straight jackets and a lot of the people here talk to each other. Actually the patients here are friendly in most cases, save for the few that are anti-social beyond belief. And they can dress how they want,it's actually quite homey here so don't be afraid when you're dropped off for the first time.

Whether you be a normal human being who decided to work here at Daniel Grey as a therapist or security or an unstable patient you are welcome here, just remember. Lights out at 10 PM and DO NOT step out of your room past midnight.

Shower Rooms
Shower Rooms 28074110
This is where everyone takes a shower. They are open, for some patients might not be allowed to be alone in a shower unsupervised. There are separate shower rooms for males and females, which both supply the same things. Toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, etc.) are provided, along with towels. Patients may shower in the allotted time they are given to.

Shower Rooms Empty Re: Shower Rooms

And all these demons keep me up all night
"How'd you even get that in here?" Spencer had asked in shock as the two made their way down the hall. This time Adrian refrained from holding his hand. Now that he saw the cuts and scars he was afraid that just a simple touch to rough would break Spencer's skin and make it fall away to the ground and shatter like glass. The mere thought of accidentally hurting his friend made him wanna shrivel up all on it's own.

Instead he just glanced down at the hair dye and thought for a long while. "I don't remember actually" he said with a laugh. "Though I think the logical guess would be that when I attempted to escape from a different asylum I picked it up along the way. Probably hid it in my bag and when I was taken to Daniel Grey a few years back I just kept it hidden until I got bored with black on black on black and needed more color." Secretly Adrian had a small hope that the bright red color would drive demons away. From his experiences they don't like fire, whenever he caught things on fire he didn't have any allusions. So maybe the red hair would make them think he's on fire. He smiled and reached in his pocket for his marker only to find emptiness remembering he gave the one he had with him to Spencer.

As soon as he noticed it's absense his hands clenched to the sides of his legs, scratching at his thighs through his pjs. It made him anxious not being able to write on anything. Gave him more time to think and thinking is bad. When you think your thoughts wonder and when your thoughts wonder it's easier for things to find you, things you dont wanna find you.

His hazel eyes were jolting all over the place skimming the walls and search each dark corner. It was bright but maybe that wouldn't stop them, maybe this once the bright lights wouldn't help them. A loud crash from behind them sent a shiver up Adrian's spine. Without thinking or worrying about shattering Spencer he grabbed his hand and began to run. The only thing that mattered was to get him and Spencer to safety.

He took the shortest route to the bathroom, never once stopping and never turning around cause he was afraid that he'd see something he didn't want to. He could already faintly hear the loud foot steps all around him and as he approached the bathroom he threw himself and Spencer in, pressing his back against the door and taking deep breaths to catch his breath, his eyes closed tight hoping they wouldn't find the two of them.

After a while he decided it was safe and sat down cross legged. "So" he said softly, glancing curiously at Spencer and wondering if he heard it all. If he hadn't heard it, that meant Spencer probably thought Adrian was crazy, which he wasn't. He just swallowed awkwardly and opened up the hair dye. Pulling it out and setting it in front of him. "Umm lets get started I guess."

"I don't remember actually. Though I think the logical guess would be that when I attempted to escape from a different asylum I picked it up along the way. Probably hid it in my bag and when I was taken to Daniel Grey a few years back I just kept it hidden until I got bored with black on black on black and needed more color."

Spencer’s eyes widened, “You tried to escape from one of these places?” Spencer could barely imagine how nerve-wrackingly horrible it might be to try to escape, let alone the horrors of the outside world. Adrian must be pretty brave to even try to escape.

Spencer glanced down at the marker in his hand. Adrian’s gift to him sat idly in his palm. it wasn’t an extraordinary looking thing, a thick black Sharpie with a few scratches covering it. He uncapped the marker and wrote on a bare space on his arm ‘Suspicion is the New Religion’. The lyric stuck in his mind. He wasn’t sure where he heard it, but he liked it. Spencer returned the cap of the pen to the marker.

Suddenly, Adrian grabbed Spencer’s wrist and broke out in a run. Spencer was caught off guard by the uncalled for grip on his wrist, and nearly tripped at the sudden pull. The taller man began to run as Adrian was doing in order to keep up with him. Spencer continued to run with Adrian, without stopping. The two turned down corridors, passed patients and rooms until Adrian lead Spencer into a room, ungrasped his wrist, and shut the door. Spencer was somewhat out of breath upon reaching the bathroom. He still head the marker he had been given and safely tucked it into his front pocket.

It was a generally simple bathroom, white with showers that were not protected with doors. Spencer’s heart beat anxiously. Did that mean he’d have to shower out in the open? He shivered at the thought of people looking at his awkward, skinny body covered with tattoos and scars. It didn’t help with the fact that he felt 40% more exposed to Victor’s torment. He wouldn’t tell Adrian that though. His mom had always called such a thing silly and stupid.

Spencer looked back at Adrian. His eyes were tightly shut as his body rattled in breaths. He watched Adrian sit cross-legged in front of him after a few moments of catching his breath, and set the hair dye between them.

"Umm lets get started I guess." Adrian said, looking at his red hair dye in between them.
“So… what do you do first?” Spencer asked. He had never dyed his hair before. He wasn’t so sure he’d look good with bright red hair, but he could picture Adrian just fine. He might even be more attractive than he already was.

Shower Rooms Empty Re: Shower Rooms

Post by Adrian Clark Mon Dec 30, 2013 12:49 am

“You tried to escape from one of these places?” Adrian looked at Spencer after he calmed down, finally ready to talk to the guy and cracked his mouth into a small toothless smile. He liked that Spencer was staring at him, eyes wide with awe, it made Adrian feel special. "Well yeah" the man stated blankly. "I had to try.. they were putting me in danger you see. Well I always felt more save in Daniel Grey for some reason but the institute I was in before this one they were all really mean there, they kept making me turn the lights out and thats dangerous.. harmful things can lurk in the dark."

Adrian glanced around the room cautiously. He didn't like talking about demons, it put him more at risk. "Anyways" he said softly, adverting the topic away from his safety. As both of them went silent, Adrian stared at Spencers arm where he had written something, letting himself smile again. Dr. Evans would be pissed to find Adrian was helping his poor roommate get into the same bad habit as him. A form of creation that may be worse than nicotine to a select few. “So… what do you do first?” Spencer had said and Adrian stood up, unbuttoning the first few buttons of his onsie and pulling it down around his waist and tied the sleeves around himself to avoid it falling all the way.

"Sorry," he said casually. "I don't wanna get bright red dye on my onsie." He opened up the box next before continuing, "ummm... you could help me put the stuff in my hair, its easier for other people to rub it in." While waiting for Spencer Adrian opened the dye and went ahead and started lathering his hair in it, making the room smell gross and his hair go all wet, the skin around his hair turning red. "Then I need to wash my hair and stuff after waiting few minuets, you know to prevent it from falling out or some crazy shit like that. At least thats what my mom told me when I dyed my hair white before getting locked up here.

"Well yeah. I had to try.. they were putting me in danger you see. Well I always felt more save in Daniel Grey for some reason but the institute I was in before this one they were all really mean there, they kept making me turn the lights out and thats dangerous.. harmful things can lurk in the dark."

Spencer nodded. He understood why Adrian was so scared of the dark. Even before his sister passed and his life went down the drain he was afraid of the dark. One day, he remembered, his sister told some of his friends he slept with a night light. They never let him hear the end of that. He shook his head.

"Anyways" Adrian said quietly. Spencer noticed his friend’s glance to his arm where he had written some lyrics moments before. He noticed the man smile, which made him happy. Seeing Adrian happy made Spencer happy.

After Spencer asked what the first step in the hair dyeing process was, he watched as Adrian unbuttoned his onesie, took his arms out of the holes, and pulled the top half of his skeleton onesie to his waist and tied the arms together. Adrian was a skinny guy, quite attractive without a shirt on in Spencer’s opinion.

"Sorry, I don't wanna get bright red dye on my onesie." Adrian explained, quite casually, picking up the box and opening it.

"ummm... you could help me put the stuff in my hair, its easier for other people to rub it in." Adrian offered, taking out all the components of the hair dyeing process.

“Uh… sure,” Spencer replied. Before Spencer could start lathering the dye on, Adrian already began to do so. After a few moments, the room smelled of hair dye. Spencer watched for a moment, then leaned forward to help out.

“So you just…” Spencer began, following Adrian’s example in coloring his hair. Spencer sat in silence, rubbing Adrian’s hair. He noticed that Adrian’s scalp began to turn a shade of bright red after a few moments.

"Then I need to wash my hair and stuff after waiting few minutes, you know to prevent it from falling out or some crazy shit like that. At least thats what my mom told me when I dyed my hair white before getting locked up here.” Adrian said.

“You had white hair too?” Spencer asked. He took a moment to look back at Adrian, trying to picture the man with white hair. He couldn’t picture him with white hair the length it was now. Perhaps it was short when it was white. He nodded to himself. Yea, it was probably short.

Spencer looked down at his fingers. the red hair dye was collected in globs on his fingers, which were also a bright shade of red. He reached forward again and continued to rub the hair dye on Adrian’s scalp.
“So how much longer do we have to do this for?” Spencer asked.

Shower Rooms Empty Re: Shower Rooms

Post by Adrian Clark Thu Jan 02, 2014 8:50 pm

I'm just the way that the doctor made me
After Adrian explained the two got to work at completely covering his hair. "You had white hair too?” Spencer had asked, which in turn made Adrian nod his head. "I changed my hair and stuff a lot actually." He thought about adding that he did it to throw demons off his trail but decided not to. Usually when he mentioned his demons people didn't like him anymore, they called him crazy. He wanted Spencer to like him so of course his wouldn't mention them unless he needed to, and right now he didn't need to.

After a while of rubbing his fingers through his own dark hair he got tired and let Spencer take over for a bit until he thought it was good enough to stop. "We can actually stop now" Adrian said in reply to Spencer, who had asked a question just before Adrian was about to speak up. "We need to hurry up, we should be in our room by now" he said, mainly just assuming it was about 10. "I need to let it sit now" he said, yawning. "I guess we can just sit and talk while I wait for it to set in, then I can wash it."

They sat in silence for a little longer before Adrian finally spoke again. "If you don't mind me asking, how'd you end up in this dump? I don't mind telling you why I am accused if you don't.. get scared or.. hate me or call me crazy or something like that. I wont tell you until you promise me that you're not like the others that I told." He glared at Spencer. Sure he'd JUST met the guy but he felt confident that the guy could be trusted. He wasn't sure why he trusted him so much but he did, ever since he attacked him in the lunch room. Spencer didn't fight back when he attacked, if he had then he would be guilty and of course Adrian would hate him but Spencer was nice and he didn't try and hurt Adrian so he had no reason to not trust him now.

If Spencer were to say yes then Adrian would of course tell him, "when I was younger I was fine. As I grew older I became the problem child. At the age of twelve I started showing unnatural behavior... I just liked fire. A lot. I liked burning things and I got in trouble in school once cause I brought a lighter and apparently you're not allowed to do that." Adrian smirked. He actually like making people angry at him, sure the yelling was just a bore but it was fun to see just how angry he could get them, see how much he could push the limits until they finally and completely snap. Now that he's in a mental institute where everyone treats him like a baby its difficult to do that cause everyone just blames his actions on his "disorders." He huffed and squirmed awkwardly, resisting scratching at his head.

"I guess I got in trouble a lot, even before things started to happen to me that didn't happen to other people. It kinda became my own drug, making people pissed off. It was fun and amusing." He smiled slightly and shrugged, "I don't know I just wasn't favored by a lot of people and I honestly didn't care. I was perfectly fine not being the cool kid and not having any friends. I didn't need them anyways, a lot of the time people are just annoying and mean, theres no point having friends when they could betray you or become mean and twisted."

"Anyways, when I was fifteen my parents noticed me behaving oddly. I was.. seeing things that" he took a deep breath and paused for a good long while. There was a high possibility that Spencer would be like the others and leave him alone once he found out how extraordinary his brain is. "You know what, nevermind I shouldn't talk about this with a total stranger. I mean who the fuck even are you. You could be working with them, anyone could. This why it's so dangerous to have friends. I should have hospitalized you when I had the chance, it would buy me more time." Adrian leaped to his feet and began pacing back and forth nervously. "It's to late now though, if you wanted to poison me or something stuck something in me then you could have done it already. It would explain why you hug me so much. You probably don't even really like me you're just using me aren't you!" His hazel eyes were wide and he sort of just crumpled to the ground. "Dammit I such a fucking idiot how could I let someone get so close." Without thinking he shifted so he was on his hands and knees sort of in a ball and smashed his head again the floor as hard as he could. He did this several times until he saw black spots around the edge of his vision, things were blurry and he felt blood trickling down his forehead for his hairline.

He sat up and scooted back to lean against a wall. "I won't let them take me, if I die it will not be by anothers hand, I am to strong for that. I would rather kill myself than be killed by another.. but not yet. Not here." He was more talking to himself than Spencer, probably forgot Spencer was even here. "If I tried that here they would find a way, they always do. And then they would put me in solitary confinement and that is really bad. I don't like being alone." He looked up at Spencer with a mixture of fright and determination his eyes. "Please... tell me you're not like them."

Shower Rooms Empty Re: Shower Rooms

"I changed my hair and stuff a lot actually."

Spencer smiled, "That's cool. My mom never let me dye my hair. I always thought it weird 'cause she let me get as many tattoos as I wanted, but as soon as I would talk about dyeing my hair, she'd say no." It wasn't usual for Spencer to share his thoughts so much around someone he'd known for only a few hours. He guessed he'd just taken a liking to Adrian, even if he had shown some unpredictability earlier. Spencer still liked Adrian, he trusted him, even if it was just a little.

After a while of rubbing, Adrian stopped rubbing the hair dye on his scalp, and Spencer just rubbed. Honestly, his hands were getting tired, but he didn't care. He was helping Adrian out. He liked that he was.

"We can actually stop now," Adrian informed Spencer as soon as he had asked."We need to hurry up, we should be in our room by now. I need to let it sit now. I guess we can just sit and talk while I wait for it to set in, then I can wash it."

Spencer nodded and looked at his fingertips, which were covered in the bright red hair dye. It reminded him of blood. In an instant, a memory hid him. He was standing in his bathroom. In one hand, he clutched a blade from a disassembled razor that you would use to shave. He looked in the mirror, tearstains on his cheeks as he looked back down to his wrist, which held many scars and healing wounds running up to about the top of his forearm. Tears rolling down his cheeks, he sliced his wrist. In an instant, blood formed along the little line on his wrist, pooling into a large droplet. The crimson liquid began to drip, rolling from the cut to the underside of his arm, and dripped onto the white porcelain sink.

"If you don't mind me asking, how'd you end up in this dump? I don't mind telling you why I am accused if you don't.. get scared or.. hate me or call me crazy or something like that. I wont tell you until you promise me that you're not like the others that I told."

Spencer blinked a few times, coming back from the memory. He looked up for a moment, letting Adrian words sink in. Of course he wouldn't call Adrian crazy. He knew how much words hurt other people. He wasn't slightly offended that Adrian would think he would do such a thing.

"I won't, I promise," Spencer said, giving Adrian a faint smile, "I'm not like other people. I hope you can trust me, 'cause I trust you."

"when I was younger I was fine. As I grew older I became the problem child. At the age of twelve I started showing unnatural behavior... I just liked fire. A lot. I liked burning things and I got in trouble in school once cause I brought a lighter and apparently you're not allowed to do that."

Spencer nodded, listening intently to what Adrian had to say.

"I guess I got in trouble a lot, even before things started to happen to me that didn't happen to other people. It kinda became my own drug, making people pissed off. It was fun and amusing. I don't know I just wasn't favored by a lot of people and I honestly didn't care. I was perfectly fine not being the cool kid and not having any friends. I didn't need them anyways, a lot of the time people are just annoying and mean, theres no point having friends when they could betray you or become mean and twisted."

Spencer nodded once more. He wasn't always the popular kid. He hadn't been 'popular' in a long time. He could slightly remember what it was like, having a multitude of friends who cared or pretended to care. "I understand," Spencer said simply.

"Anyways, when I was fifteen my parents noticed me behaving oddly. I was.. seeing things that" Adrian paused for a long while before speaking once more.

"You know what, nevermind I shouldn't talk about this with a total stranger. I mean who the fuck even are you. You could be working with them, anyone could. This why it's so dangerous to have friends. I should have hospitalized you when I had the chance, it would buy me more time."

Spencer stared at Adrian, eyes wide. He watched Adrian get to his feet and begin to nervously pace back and forth on the bathroom floor.

"Adrian, I-I I'm not-" He began to say before Adrian cut him off.

"It's to late now though, if you wanted to poison me or something stuck something in me then you could have done it already. It would explain why you hug me so much. You probably don't even really like me you're just using me aren't you!"

Spencer stood to his feet, looking terrified at how hysterical Adrian was becoming, "Adrian, I promise, I don't have ulterior motives."

Adrian reacted so quickly Spencer wasn't quite aware of what happened afterwards. The man sort of collapsed on the floor.

"Dammit I such a fucking idiot how could I let someone get so close." Adrian spoke, quickly shifting into a position where he was on his hands and knees and suddenly began smashing his head into the ground. Spencer watched helplessly in horror as his friend continued to smash his head on the tile floor.

"Adrian! A-Adrian stop! S-Stop! Please!" Spencer begged Adrian, his voice shaky in fear of what his friend was doing to himself. With every smash his head too, it felt as if his heart was being pummeled.

Suddenly, Adrian lifted his head up and scooted back until he was against the wall. His eyes seemed crazed, fearful. Spencer wasn't sure if he saw dye or blood trickle down the side of Adrian's face, but his heart leapt with anxiety all the same.

"I won't let them take me, if I die it will not be by anothers hand, I am to strong for that. I would rather kill myself than be killed by another.. but not yet. Not here."

What was Adrian even talking about? Spencer just watched the man, eyes wide in fear.

"If I tried that here they would find a way, they always do. And then they would put me in solitary confinement and that is really bad. I don't like being alone."

The man looked up at Spencer, a look of fear and determination in his eyes. Spencer scooted closer to him, very cautiously and slowly to make sure he wouldn't provoke him until he was about a foot in front of Adrian.

"Please... tell me you're not like them." Adrian spoke, looking at Spencer.

"I-I'm not like them," He said, looking Adrian in the eye, "I promise I'm nothing like those people, I won't hurt you, I won't scorn you, I won't leave you, I won't call you names, I won't treat you badly, I won't run from you, I won't use you. But please, please don't hurt yourself. It hurts me, too."

I'm just the way that the doctor made me
"I-I'm not like them, I promise I'm nothing like those people, I won't hurt you, I won't scorn you, I won't leave you, I won't call you names, I won't treat you badly, I won't run from you, I won't use you. But please, please don't hurt yourself. It hurts me, too." Spencer said, almost like a plea. He almost wanted to trust the guy, but you can never be to sure with people, they are such horrible creatures. He should have just stuck to himself, thats all he needs.

"Do you really?" Adrian said softly after a long lapse of silence. "I don't like liars, and I have been lied to to much.. I cannot possibly trust anything about you.. there is no solid evidence that you are a good guy.." he paused and sighed, wiping the blood off his forehead before the trail fell off his eyebrow and into his eye. "I want you to be good so I guess I have to trust you." He wasn't going to ever start talking about why he's here to Spencer ever again though, there was no way any human being could be trusted with such delicate information. Adrian stumbled to his feet and hobbled over to the showers.

In Adrian's mind it would be acceptable to strip down to his boxers in front of Spencer. It wasn't like he was asking to get into his pants or anything, besides he's showered completely naked in the shower rooms before in from of plenty of guys, at first it was awkward but you get used to it. So without thinking he pulled off the rest of his onsie, leaving it in a heap on the floor as he started up the shower.

Once the shower was warmed up Adrian stepped in, watching the water turn red as it washed through his hair and ran down his body, ending it a pool of what looked like watered down blood at his feet. He kept himself entertained with this for a while, sploshing his feet in the red water and finding amusement with running his hand through his hair then bringing it down to his eyes again to look at the red that's settled on it.

Red was a pretty color, he decided. Not any red though, bright reds only look good in hair. Dark red looks good on walls, and subtle reds look good anyway. It's often mistaken as a sinister color, but Adrian didn't think anything negative about it and his demons either look like humans or black smoke, not red blobs. Therefore red can't be evil, it's a good color that Adrian associates with rage and creativity, both are nothing evil.

After watching the red for a bit longer Adrian actually put shampoo in his hair, rinsed it out, then waited for the water to run clear. Once the water was ugly again he stepped out, going to the far shelf and grabbed a towel, wrapping it around his lower half and throwing his onsie over his shoulder.

"I'll just let my hair air dry, if I make to much noise someone might come yell at me" he said as he looked in the mirror lined wall, looking at his blurry image through the fog. He looked clean, his hair basically looked black but it had sort of dark dark dark red tints to it. His hair was pulled up out of his face so Adrian could see his hair line which was no red, and in one area raw and bleeding slightly from where he injured himself on the floor. The water had cleaned it out and it actually kinda burned, a lot. Hair dye had maybe gotten into it and Adrian wasn't sure if that would be super bad or not so he just left it alone. It would scab over and he would be perfectly fine. "Lets just go back to our room and go to sleep. It's been a long day."
