Welcome
Now come one, come all to this tragic affair----

Welcome to Nightmares & Daydreams. A modern day rp that takes place in a psychiatric hospital.

You were thrown in here for one reason or another. Dumped in this hellhole they call Daniel Grey Psychiatric Hospital, or actually more commonly known as the local loony bin of California. When you think "psychiatric hospital" or "mental institution" I'm sure the first thing you think are those scary asylums they have in the movies with bright white lights everywhere and people in straight jackets not talking to each other.

I guess in a way Daniel Grey is like that in the sense that a lot of the walls and floors here are a bright white. But there aren't any people in straight jackets and a lot of the people here talk to each other. Actually the patients here are friendly in most cases, save for the few that are anti-social beyond belief. And they can dress how they want,it's actually quite homey here so don't be afraid when you're dropped off for the first time.

Whether you be a normal human being who decided to work here at Daniel Grey as a therapist or security or an unstable patient you are welcome here, just remember. Lights out at 10 PM and DO NOT step out of your room past midnight.

Right next to the group therapy room is Dr. Evan's private office. The door to his office is unlocked all the time though if he is busy with a patient he will have a sign outside to warn others away. Usually you must make an appointment with Dr. Evans or he will seek out to find you cause he's worried about your mental health. Whenever you make an appointment with him it is important to make it to the appointment because he is rather strict so who knows what kind of trouble you could get into.

Killian was aware that he might not look like a member of Daniel Grey's staff. Where as most around here seemed to live in business-casual, Killian only ever existed in casual. Jeans, and t-shirts or at most a button down...and honestly, if he could continue to get away with it that was how he planned on staying. He was more approachable this way, and he knew from experience that - as a counsellor - he needed to be approachable. People were made nervous by suits, and other visible signs of so-called authority, and he didn't want anyone feeling coerced or forced when they actually started to talk to him. No, he wanted his patients to feel comfortable and on top of that he wanted to be comfortable himself - and really, who could ever feel that way in a suit? Right now though, he couldn't help but wish that he'd thought to at least invest in one so he could up his chances of being taken seriously.

He was on his way to a meeting, that he'd actually arranged , with his boss - Dr. Evans. The doctor was a man that Killian actually had yet to meet, and honestly he would have been okay with keeping it that way as he generally had problems with clear authority figures and what they represented. Unfortunately, though, it had become a necessity during this past week - and no, it wasn't the sort of necessity that required the making of a complaint. It was true that the patient he had in mind was a bit of a pain in the ass, but honestly Killian understood why he was. At least, he understood the basics of it as Fenris had yet to really start talking. He was a stubborn man, but Killian had the patience for it, and besides, that wasn't what bothered him. What bothered him was the guy's parents...and their distinct lack of care for their son.

Sure, Fenris had things. Clothes, shoes...all of the things that humans needed to live in a basic fashion. But there was nothing that he might want, almost as if those so-called parents hadn't bothered to spend the time to find out what those things might be. Books, a particular sort of candy...or even cigarettes. And that was really what had brought this meeting into the realm of necessity as he'd gone out and done something on impulse, but now wasn't sure enough to be able to follow through on it.

It wasn't that Killian was seeking permission, exactly, because he wasn't. He'd already gone out and bought a carton of his own brand, simply because he didn't know what Fenris preferred, but he had yet to make Fenris aware because he wanted to make certain that he wasn't going to get fired for doing so. After all, problems with authority aside - Killian needed this job. And he liked it and was good at it, so it would be beneficial to both sides if he were allowed to stay on. But he couldn't deal with the fact that there were people in this place that had nothing simply because those responsible for their care chose to give them nothing. It was neglect, plain and simple...and well, so long as this place was their 'home', he aimed to make certain that wants /and/ needs were being met. And that was going to start with Fenris and his cigarettes.

He paused just outside of the door, trying to peer into the purposely blurred glass window of the door to see if he could figure out if the doctor was even in. After all, just because it was free time for the patients didn't mean it was the same for staff. And though Killian had scheduled this meeting, it also didn't mean that something hadn't come up and the doctor had been needed elsewhere. But just standing outside of the door and staring in wasn't going to do any good...so after a few moments of doing just that, Killian finally raised a fist to the door and knocked. After that, all that was left to really do was wait - and if the doctor didn't happen to be in, he'd just have to find a piece of paper to leave a note on his door. Either way, he fully intended on talking with Doctor Evans at some point today as really this couldn't be put off any longer.

I need your broken promises

Alexander had just got to his office and was sitting with a back of frozen peas held to his left eye that he'd brought from his apartment. Adrian hadn't resisted until just outside the door to solitary confinement. Because the security Alexander brought with him hadn't restrained Adrian because he hadn't shown any signs of putting up a fight, the patient found it easy to raise an arm and sock his therapist in the eye. Alexander figured it would create a black eye, which was a real bummer.

Just as he stood up maybe be productive someone knocked at his door. What perfect timing. He really didn't want to have to talk to mentally unstable patients with a bag of peas on his face. He still answered the door though, but it wasn't a patient. It was Killian. Alexander had never talked with they guy but he has seen him around and he knew he was a rehabilitation councilor. He wondered how the guy was putting up with Fenris. It was the first thing that came to his mind. Alexander only sees and talks with Fenris at group therapy when the guy just sits sulking and the only thing he ever says is an insult or witty remark that most likely will upset someone. The guy seemed to live to make Alexander's life harder.

"Hello Killian" he said, managing a smile even though he had a bag of peas on his face. "Excuse my um.. bag of peas. I had an issue with a patient and he punched me." It had been a while since a patient assaulted him. Go figure it would be Adrian to break that chain of good luck. "Come in though, make yourself at home.. oh and what is it you wanted to talk about?" Alexander could guess that the fellow staff member hadn't just dropped by for a chat when he came directly to his office. It was lucky that Dr. Evans' was in his office at the time though rather than staying in his apartment with his bag of peas, slacking off simply because of a minor black eye.
